SeaWorld San Antonio, 10500 SeaWorld Dr., is a marine life adventure park offering shows, up-close animal encounters, attractions and rides. The high-energy show Orca Encounter blends orca behaviors with music and messages of education and conservation. The Ocean Discovery features beluga whales and Pacific whitesided dolphins interacting with each other. Sea Lion & Otter Spotlight presents California sea lions and Asian small-clawed otters in an all new educational and funny show.
The three-acre Sesame Street Bay of Play offers family rides and the chance to meet and be photographed with Sesame Street characters. Super Grover's Box Car Derby introduces young adventurers to the fun of a coaster ride and is the perfect first steel roller coaster for kids and adults. Abby Cadabby's Rockin' Wave, Big Bird's Spinning Reef and an interactive water adventure with 22 water elements (bubblers, geysers, jets) are all family friendly activities.
Explorer's Reef brings you face-to-face with tropical fish, sharks and eels; bottlenose dolphin frolic at Discovery Point; and some 250 playful penguins show off their antics in the Penguin Encounter. Guests can also enjoy Turtle Reef, a habitat for endangered sea turtles. There's also an opportunity for dolphin, beluga and sea lion interactive swims as well as special behind-the-scenes-tours and animal interactions available for an additional fee.
Journey to Atlantis combines the thrill of a coaster with the plunge of a water ride. Among the other rides are the Steel Eel coaster; Riptide Rescue; Rio Loco; Sea Swinger; Texas Stringray; Tidal Surge which allows riders to feel as if they are soaring high; and The Great White, on which riders go heels-over-head five times. Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster is a jet-ski-style coaster combining the thrill of a roller coaster with the adrenaline rush of a marine animal rescue mission. Coming Summer 2023 is Catapult Falls, a launched flume coaster.
Special events include Mardi Gras, mid-January to late February; the Seven Seas Food Festival, late March to late May; and the Summer Spectacular, early June to early August, complete with exciting entertainment. Holiday-themed events include SeaWorld's family-friendly Spooktacular held in October and SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration, which runs from mid-November to early January.
