Museum of the Gulf Coast

Museum of the Gulf Coast is at 700 Procter St. Artifacts, documents, photographs, fossils and memorabilia recount the area's history. The Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame features mementos and recordings by such Port Arthur natives as Janis Joplin and The Big Bopper. The Sports Legends Gallery features audiovisual exhibits. Works by artist Robert Rauschenberg and a collection of decorative arts also are featured. Of interest is the indoor mural collection, Sabine Banks lighthouse Fresnel lens and fiberglass racecar.
