Marine Science Institute Visitor Center

Marine Science Institute Visitor Center is at 855 E. Cotter Ave. on the University of Texas Marine Science Institute campus. The center's seven aquariums re-create different Texas coastal habitats including a cordgrass salt marsh, black mangrove marsh, an oyster reef, an artificial reef, an open bay bottom and a rock jetty. Visitors can learn about the institute's research projects through exhibits, movies and educational programs housed in the main building.

Next to the visitor center is the 3.5-acre Wetlands Education Center, an outdoor area containing native plants, wildlife and a boardwalk.
