LBJ Ranch District

LBJ Ranch District, 14 mi. w. of Johnson City on US 290, is open to self-guiding automobile tours. Vehicle permits, as well as CDs providing a narrative of the tour route, are available at the visitor center at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site near Stonewall . Highlights of the tour include the farmhouse where LBJ was born, the one-room Junction School, the LBJ show barn, the “Texas White House” and the graves of former president Lyndon B. Johnson and Mrs. Johnson in the Johnson family cemetery.
