Silent Wings Museum is at 6202 N. I-27 in the old Lubbock Airport terminal. Exhibits chronicle the history of the United States military glider program during World War II. A collection of more than 10,000 artifacts includes aircraft, vehicles, weapons and personal effects of soldiers and civilians. A fully restored glider sits inside the 30,000-square-foot gallery; a fully restored C-47 Skytrain is installed in front of the museum.
