AAA Editor Notes
Tranquillity Park is downtown, bounded by Smith, Walker, Bagby and Rusk sts. The park commemorates the Apollo 11 mission and is named for the 1969 lunar landing on the Sea of Tranquility. Five towers resembling rockets rise from a 32-level fountain and reflecting pool. Bronze plaques recount the Apollo story in 15 languages.
