Texas Baptist Historical Museum

Texas Baptist Historical Museum is at 10405 FM 50. The state's oldest continuously active Baptist church was established in the Republic of Texas in 1839. Museum exhibits relate to the church, the community, the founding of Baylor University and Baylor Female College and many of the area's notable residents, including Gen. Sam Houston. A nearby cemetery contains the graves of Mrs. Sam Houston and her mother, Nancy Lea.
