John Jay French Historic House Museum

John Jay French Historic House Museum is off US 69/96/287 exit Lucas, then s. on access road to 3025 French Rd. This simple 1845 Greek Revival house is one of the area's first two-story, painted dwellings. The museum chronicles rural life in East Texas during the mid-19th century. The grounds include the Heritage Hall, a smokehouse, laundry shed, tannery, blacksmith shop and cemetery.
