LBJ Presidential Library is at 2313 Red River St. on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Papers of the Johnson presidency are preserved at the complex, which also includes sculptures of President and Mrs. Johnson, interactive exhibits featuring historic films and telephone recordings, gifts from foreign heads of state, Johnson's 1968 Lincoln limousine, a collection of American political memorabilia and changing displays depicting American history.
Displays chronicle Johnson's life, from his boyhood along the Pedernales River to his retirement at his ranch. Visitors can step into a 7/8-scale replica of the Oval Office of Johnson's administration (1963-69). An 11-minute multimedia program about Johnson's life is shown throughout the day. A special exhibition, "Lady Bird: Beyond the Wildflowers," is available through mid-August 2023.
Note: Visitors will not be admitted after 4 p.m.
Time: Allow 2 hours, 30 minutes minimum.
