Customs House Museum and Cultural Center

Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is at 200 S. 2nd St. In the 1898 Old Post Office & Customs House, the museum's architecture consists of Italianate ornamentation, a pyramidal slate roof, Romanesque arches and guardian eagles. Permanent exhibits include a restored 1842 log house, a tobacco exhibit, children's hands-on exhibits in the Explorers' Gallery, art galleries, an extensive porcelain collection, a bubble cave and model train exhibits.
