Black Hills Caverns

Black Hills Caverns is 4 mi. w. on SR 44 to 2600 Cavern Rd. The caverns contain a series of chambers and large cave rooms with colorful varieties of crystal, including logomites, stalactites, frost crystal, flowstone and stalagmites. Both guided and self-guiding tours through well-lighted passageways are available. A museum displays formations, rocks, gems and minerals; there also is a gem panning exhibit. The 1-hour Adventure Tour is a .75-mile round trip. The Crystal Tour is a 30-minute excursion designed for active senior citizens. Visitors can participate in gem panning and crystal mining.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
