Arrive in Key West

• Follow Samantha’s footsteps on a literary tour past the home of Tennessee Williams. Considered one of the greatest 20th century playwrights, he called the island of Key West home for over 30 years.

• Snorkel two different tropical reef locations in one day with Fury Water Adventures Double Dip Reef Snorkel. Their high-speed, state-of-the-art catamaran will get you to the reefs quickly and comfortably, cutting down on travel time and giving you more time to explore the underwater marvels.
• Explore Key West Aquarium, one of the first open-air aquariums when it opened in 1934. Fish, shark and turtle feedings take place daily, and a touch tank lets visitors interact with the marine life.
• Duval Street is another must do when in Key West. Stroll down Duval St. and its side streets, neat cafes and open-air restaurants serve foods ranging from gourmet specialties to ethnic snacks. Then follow Samantha’s steps seaside to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park.
• From there, visit Truman Little White House, the summer home of President Harry S. Truman while in office.
• Hog’s Breath Saloon This marina-front eatery offers authentic charm and is a reflection of the way the Florida Keys used to be while preparing delicious, fresh seafood dishes.

Off to Marathon

The midway point between Key Largo and Key West, Marathon is the largest city in the Florida Keys. Take a day trip to Marathon on your last full day in the Keys.

• Arriving in Marathon, learn as Samantha did about the amazing rescue work done at the Turtle Hospital. Educational programs run daily on the hour from 9 AM-4 PM.
• On Places to Love Samantha meets a Lionfish huntress, Rachel Bowman, who makes a living by catching this invasive species and supplying them to local restaurants such as Sparky’s. Visit Sparky’s Landing, you can also savor Lionfish tacos.
• Crane Point Hammock Museum and Nature Center is a natural history museum features models of marine life, animals and birds in naturalistic setting. Guided trolley, kayak and paddleboard tours are available- reservations recommended.

Say Good Bye to the Florida Keys

• Before you leave Key West you much visit Blue Heaven Restaurant & Bar and fill up on a hearty breakfast. This casual eatery has been host to such venues as cock fighting, boxing matches, billiards, a dance hall and even a bordello.
