The Whitehorne House

The Whitehorne House, 416 Thames St., is Newport's only Federal-style mansion open to the public. It houses a stunning collection of 18th- and early 19th-century Newport and Rhode Island furniture, including pieces by Goddard and Townsend, as well as other early decorative arts by regional craftspeople. A period garden is behind the house.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
