Linden Place Mansion

Linden Place Mansion, 500 Hope St., is an 1810 Federal mansion built for Gen. George DeWolf. The house later was occupied by the general's descendants, including the prominent Colt family and actress Ethel Barrymore. Numerous dignitaries, among them four U.S. presidents, were entertained at the antique-furnished home. The 1.8-acre site also features a ballroom, carriage barn, summer house, bronze sculptures and rose arbors.
