The National Battlefields Commission
AAA Editor Notes
Battlefields Park (Parc des Champs-de-Bataille) is between rue Bougainville and the St-Louis Gate, with entrances on Grande Allée. The park encompasses the Plains of Abraham, where the armies of Gen. James Wolfe and the Marquis de Montcalm fought in 1759. The information and reception center is in the Plains of Abraham Museum at 835 Wilfrid-Laurier Avenue. The museum highlights the exhibits "Battles 1759-1760" which immerses guests into the Siege of Québec, the Battle of the Plains of Abraham and the Battle of Sainte-Foy; and "Identities" where artifacts from four archeological sites on the battlefield tell tales and reveal identities.

The restored Martello Tower 1, vestige of the 19th century, features a smart tablet-based virtual reality experience as well as an exhibit about the Québec City Martello Towers, their architecture, military engineering, and the living conditions of the military billeted in the towers. Abraham's Bus Tour uses humor to relate the site's best kept secrets. Throughout the year, the park offers the Joan of Arc Garden, open-air concerts at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand and interactive activities such as treasure hunts, guided tours and escape games.

Guided tours are available. Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
