Laurel Caverns

Laurel Caverns is about 3 mi. e. on US 40, then 5 mi. s. on Skyline Dr. to 200 Caverns Park Rd. A maze cave with more than 3 miles of passages, the caverns have been explored since the late 1700s. Guided tours include the Grand Canyon and other limestone formations. A view from Chestnut Ridge covers two states and 4,000 square miles. Gem panning and an indoor miniature golf course also are available. Cavern temperatures remain at a constant 52 degrees Fahrenheit.

Warm clothing and appropriate footwear are recommended. The 1-hour tour involves steps and steep slopes; a 30-minute tour that bypasses these sections is available.
