Welkinweir

Welkinweir is off I-76 exit 312, 8.3 mi. n. on SR 100 then .7 mi. w. at 1368 Prizer Rd. This is the former estate of Everett and Grace Rodebaugh; both were dedicated to environmental issues and helped found the Green Valleys Watershed Association, which protects the five watersheds of northern Chester County. The arboretum features formal gardens, a wildlife sanctuary and hiking trails. The site is connected to the Horse-Shoe Trail, where horseback riding is permitted; from there visitors can continue on to French Creek State Park.

Educational programs for children, adults and families are offered throughout the year.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
