Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion

Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion is off I-95 exit 30; take Cottman Ave. 1.2 mi. w., then .8 mi. n. to 8046 Frankford Ave. Spiders, scorpions and other arthropods—live and mounted—can be seen in exhibits and hands-on activities. Two live insect displays are a working beehive and a glass-enclosed area pervaded by cockroaches. At the petting corner, visitors also can touch some of the resident creatures. The indoor butterfly pavilion showcases 2,000 butterflies.
