Inclined Plane

Inclined Plane, SR 56 and Johns St., is 996 feet long with a grade of 71 percent, making it one of the steepest passenger inclined planes in the world. It connects the central part of Johnstown with a residential suburb on a plateau 502 feet above the city. Both cars and pedestrians are carried. An observation platform at the top overlooks the city.
