AAA Editor Notes
Farnsworth House Inn & Tours is at 401 Baltimore St. The 1810 house, which includes a brick portion that was added in 1833, has been restored to its 1863 appearance when it held Confederate sharpshooters during the 3-day siege in the Civil War. A south wall still holds more than 100 bullet holes. Weapons, bullets and artifacts from the house and battlefield are displayed in the attic area. The home was used by Union veterans during the 75th anniversary of the battle in 1938. Uniforms and props used by actors Sam Elliott and Tom Berenger from the 1993 film “Gettysburg” are also displayed.

A seated presentation in the cellar featuring ghost tales and stories about Victorian mourning is also offered nightly. Other offerings include In Their Shoes: A Day in the Life of a Soldier tour and Eat in Civil War Camp. Other tours also are available.
The house can only be seen on a guided tour.
