The resort, nestled in the Allegheny Mountains of southwest Pennsylvania, has a rich history and even a Revolutionary War flag mounted behind the front desk. Rooms are large with plush luxury bedding. Afternoon tea is served in the lobby where President James Buchanan received the first transatlantic cable. The mineral springs, sought after for their medicinal qualities, are featured in the spa and help to fill one of the first indoor pools constructed in the country. In the evening, relax in one of the many rocking chairs on the large front porch.
