AAA Editor Notes
Prehistoric Gardens is 12 mi. s. on US 101 at mile marker 313. Set within a small coastal rain forest, the natural gardens have been attracting tourists since 1955 when the first life-size prehistoric creature was introduced. A great place to stop, take a break and stretch your legs while driving along US 101, this “Lost World” features paths under a dense forest canopy lined with ferns and native vegetation, and at every turn stands a new dinosaur replica. Educational signs are posted next to each animal.
