Uxbridge Historical Centre, 2 km (1.2 mi.) n. of Hwy. 47 on Concession Rd. 6, depicts the history of the area settled by Quakers 1805-06. Ten buildings house exhibits including displays about author Lucy Maud Montgomery, pianist Glenn Gould, artist David Milne, the Thomas Foster Memorial, the Oak Ridges Moraine and the Quaker settlers. The grounds offer a panorama of the region. An archives and research center is available. Special events are offered throughout the season.
