Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site

Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site, from the International Bridge, s. on Huron St. then just e. on Canal Dr., interprets the many technological firsts and accomplishments related to the canal's 1887-95 construction and operation. The canal was converted to small craft use in 1998. The original buildings, a self-guiding nature trail and a visitor center are on the site.
