Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village

Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village, 2.5 km (1.6 mi.) e. via old Hwy. 17 at 1032 Pembroke St. E., beside the Pembroke Mall, depicts the history and environment of the Ottawa Valley. Displays include crafts, items relating to local sports, farming tools, a water wheel, Algonquin Indian artifacts and a Corliss steam engine. Other sections examine the exploration and fur trade eras and the lumber industry. Restored buildings include a one-room schoolhouse, a log dwelling, a blacksmith shop and a pioneer church.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
