Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica

Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, 385 Sussex Dr., was built in 1839 and not completed until 1885. Restored to its original glory, highlights include its painted and carved neo-Gothic interior, stained-glass windows, a gilded statue of the Madonna and child, intricate wall paneling, faux marble pillars and hundreds of statues. Its two prominent spires make the cathedral, a blend of Gothic Revival and Neo-Classic design, a local landmark.
