Dundurn National Historic Site

Dundurn National Historic Site is at 610 York Blvd. The castle is the restored 40-room Italianate villa of Sir Allan Napier MacNab, premier of the United Provinces of Canada 1854-56. Dundurn, Gaelic for “strong fort,” houses furnishings that reflect the mid-19th-century lifestyle of the MacNab family and the servants who lived and worked in the house. Costumed interpreters offer 1-hour tours of more than 40 rooms on three floors. Also on the grounds is the Hamilton Military Museum.

Guided tours are approximately one hour and begin every 20 to 30 minutes.
