Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat is at 1 Drury Park Rd. The 2-hectare (5-acre) rehabilitation facility offers a safe haven for abused or neglected bears that have been rescued from substandard zoos, the entertainment industry or private owners. Visitors also may “swim” with the bears (a thick glass separates the swimmers from the bears), but this is only available if the bears choose to be in the water at the same time.
The Museum Heritage Village displays antique items such as butter churns, blacksmith tools, a 1922 Ford Fordson and a 1932 Plymouth. A snowmobile museum also is available.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
