Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center

Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center is at 825 Gallia St. Changing exhibits in a 1917 building explore fine art, history, science and humanities. Permanent galleries include American scene paintings by Portsmouth native Clarence Holbrook Carter as well as 10,000 prehistoric objects from the Mound Builders. Music and theater events, films, lectures and classes are offered.
