National McKinley Birthplace Memorial

National McKinley Birthplace Memorial is at 40 N. Main St. The 1915-17 Classical Greek structure is made of Georgian marble to honor William McKinley, who served as the nation's 25th president 1897-1901. An ornate museum contains McKinley memorabilia, a collection of J. Massey-Rhind bronze busts from the late 19th- and early 20th centuries, an auditorium and library. The McKinley Birthplace Home and Research Center, at 40 S. Main St., is a reconstruction of the president's birthplace home and is furnished in period.
