In a hamlet chock-full with local history, this inn, built circa 1751, offers a main building maintained in a Colonial-era style and small cottages with more contemporary, relaxed country décor. A colorful part of Long Island Heritage, Washington’s Spy Trail cuts through the hamlet, and the past comes alive within this well-preserved area. For nature-lovers, the magnificent Avalon Nature Preserve is within a short walk from the inn, with its tidal pools, boardwalks, bird-watching, wooded hiking trails and serene Long Island Sound views. The inn’s location is just a stone's throw away from the lovely downtown shopping district, and the Three Village area is filled with artisan shops, cozy cafes and pubs. All this makes for a perfect weekend getaway from the city or nearby surburbs.
