Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic

Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic is at 68 Bluenose Dr. The museum includes five waterfront buildings with three floors of exhibits and wharfside vessels, including two ships that can be boarded. The fishing schooner Theresa E. Connor is outfitted as a working ship, and visitors can inspect her decks and gear. Adjacent is the dragger Cape Sable, a steel-hulled trawler. Visitors are welcome below deck on both ships. The restored Bluenose II may also be available for boarding during the summer.

The buildings contain an aquarium with native freshwater and saltwater fish, displays of ship models and sea artifacts, exhibits depicting the story of rumrunning and the history of the Bluenose, and a theater presenting a variety of films about fishing and local history. The Fishermen's Memorial Room honors local fishermen and vessels lost at sea. Also featured is the Banks Fishery/Age of Sail Gallery with models and displays.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
