Yarmouth County Museum and Archives

Yarmouth County Museum and Archives is at 22 Collins St. Housed in a granite church, the museum contains one of Canada's largest collections of ships portraits. Also featured are ships models, a lens from the Yarmouth lighthouse, costumes, a 1921 electric car, and a collection of tools, glass, china, toys and household items.

Another highlight is a stone bearing a mysterious runic inscription that is linked to Norse explorations of around A.D. 1000. Five period rooms are offered. Archives contain historical documents, photographs and genealogical records.
