Argyle Township Court House & Gaol

Argyle Township Court House & Gaol is 15 km (9 mi.) s. on Hwy. 3 (Lighthouse Rte.) in Tusket. Built 1803-05, the courthouse remained in use until 1945. Guided tours of the old jail, courtroom, judge's chamber and jail keeper's quarters are available. Genealogical archives contain Argyle and Yarmouth County records and provincial census data from 1770-1891.
