Poplar Grove Historic Plantation, 9 mi. n. to 10200 US 17N, is one of America's oldest peanut plantations. Tours visit the 1850s manor house as well as outbuildings representative of a southeastern North Carolina working farm. A guided tour of the stables also is available. Heritage arts demonstrations are offered when staffing allows. A farmers market is held on the grounds Wednesday 8-1, mid-April to late October.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
