Battleship North Carolina

Battleship North Carolina is at jct. US 17 and US 421N, on the Cape Fear River at 1 Battleship Rd. Commissioned in 1941, the USS North Carolina served in every major naval offensive in the Pacific in World War II, earning 15 battle stars. A self-guiding tour, taking an average of 2 hours, enables visitors to explore portions of nine decks, allowing visits to the crew's quarters, the bridge, gun turrets and plotting, radio and engine rooms. Many exhibits depict the World War II experiences of crew members and their loved ones.
