“Horn In the West” is .5 mi. s. of US 421 at 591 Horn in the West Dr. This outdoor historical drama with a cast of 50 portrays the struggle of Daniel Boone and his men to establish freedom in the southern Appalachian highlands. Hickory Ridge Living History Museum contains a reconstructed log village typical of the 18th century. Costumed guides demonstrate the lifestyle of the region's early settlers. The Boone Heritage Festival is held in October.
