Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Gower St. at Church Hill, is said to be one of the finest examples of ecclesiastical Gothic architecture in North America. Construction began in 1847 and the cornerstone was laid in 1849. After the Great Fire of 1892, restoration efforts continued for 13 years. Sculptured arches and carved furnishings are of interest.
