Sapsucker Woods

Sapsucker Woods, 3 mi. n.e. of the main campus at 159 Sapsucker Woods Rd., is the home of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology research center. Four miles of sanctuary trails wind through woodlands and swamps filled with nesting and migrating birds. The Morgens Observatory overlooks a bird-feeding garden and a 10-acre pond. Displayed is a collection of paintings by ornithological painter Louis Agassiz Fuertes as well as other artists. Interactive kiosks, displays and films highlight various bird species.
