The Hyde Collection Art Museum & Historic House

The Hyde Collection Art Museum & Historic House is at 161 Warren St. This art museum features distinguished collections of European and American art, and modern and contemporary art. Its permanent collection of nearly 4,000 works spans centuries and consists of paintings, drawings, graphics, sculpture and decorative arts. The core collection, acquired by museum founders Louis and Charlotte Hyde, includes works by such artists as Botticelli, El Greco, Rembrandt, Rubens, Degas, Seurat, Picasso, and Renoir; and American artists Eakins, Hassam, Homer, and Whistler.

The museum’s collection of modern and contemporary art features works by artists including Albers, Gottlieb, Hartigan, Kelly, LeWitt, Motherwell, Nicholson and Rauschenberg. The Hyde Collection presents changing exhibitions in its four galleries, as well as lectures, concerts and events in its modern museum complex and historic house.
