Fenimore Art Museum

Fenimore Art Museum is at 5798 SR 80. The museum, a neo-Georgian structure overlooking Otsego Lake, houses a rich collection of American folk art and Native American art as well as important holdings in American decorative arts, photography, and 19th- and 20th-century art. The Eugene and Clare Thaw Collection of American Indian Art is a masterpiece collection of more than 850 art objects, representing a broad scope of North American cultures. The collections of American folk and fine art include seminal works by Grandma Moses, Gilbert Stuart, Thomas Cole, William Sidney Mount and Benjamin West. Also available is James Fenimore Cooper memorabilia, a Native American interpretative area along the lake and many changing exhibitions featuring well-known artists including Ansel Adams and Keith Haring.
