Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is at 2655 South Park Ave. (US 62). The gardens are in South Park, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in the late 1890s. The Victorian conservatory opened in 1900; its tri-domed glass, wood and steel design was based upon the Crystal Palace in Kew Gardens Palm House in England. The Botanical Gardens consists of 11 greenhouses and offers a collection of plants from around the world. Tropical and subtropical plants are grouped by region in Victorian style.
