Singer Castle on Dark Island

Singer Castle on Dark Island is accessible by ferry service, boat tours or private boat departing from Alexandria Bay. The Scottish-inspired castle was constructed 1903-1905 for Singer Sewing Machine Co. magnate Frederick G. Bourne and features turrets, a clock tower and outbuildings. Guided tours take in many of the castle's 28 rooms, including views of its secret passages and out buildings on the seven-acre island.

Note: Strollers are not permitted. Tours include climbing stairs; comfortable shoes are recommended.
