Heritage Park

Heritage Park is 2 mi. w. on US 64 at 6131 US 64 at Salmon Ruin. Offering a glimpse into the lifestyles and cultures of the San Juan Valley, the park features Navajo log homes, Apache teepees and a basket maker pit house—a semi-underground house that conserved heat in winter and remained cool in summer. Visitors can examine ancient figures etched into stone and view the unusual construction of the Salmon homestead, built about 1900.
