New Jersey State Botanical Garden

New Jersey State Botanical Garden is off Sloatsburg Rd. at jct. Sloatsburg and Morris rds. in Ringwood State Park. The 44-room Skylands Manor is surrounded by 96 acres of formal and informal gardens and more than 1,000 acres of native woodlands. Clarence McKenzie Lewis built the Tudor-style mansion in the 1920s and collected flowering trees and plants from around the world to beautify the grounds. Marked trails wind through the gardens; annuals and perennials bloom from spring through the first frost. Cellphone/web tours are offered.
