East Jersey Old Town Village, 1050 River Rd., features reconstructed and replica buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. The village is a charming time capsule in which visitors can experience the period of America's founding and as a fledgling nation. Learn about life on the farm and as a merchant from costumed interpreters who will tell you about the lives and events of the era and take in even more history from their fantastic exhibits as you tour the buildings. Visit the stone carver, gardens, a smokehouse, a blacksmith’s shop and a tavern.

Daily musket demonstrations will be a highlight of the visit. Check ahead to see if the Liberty Baseball Club is playing a game, and bring a blanket to lounge on while watching the team in period uniforms play with nineteenth century rules and equipment.

Historical interpreters are on site Apr.-Oct.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
