Trailside Nature and Science Center

Trailside Nature and Science Center is off the US 22 New Providence Rd. exit n. to Ackerman Ave., then n. on Coles Ave. to 452 New Providence Rd. Within the Watchung Reservation, the 2,065-acre preserve has a visitor center with changing exhibits about human and natural history as well as a collection of live reptiles and fish. A museum contains taxidermy displays, fossils and a hands-on discovery room for preschoolers. Miles of trails surround the facility.
