Douglas A. Philbrook Red Barn Museum

Douglas A. Philbrook Red Barn Museum is at the base of Mount Washington Auto Road, 1 Mount Washington Auto Rd., and is reached via SR 16, about 8 mi. s. of Gorham. Housed in an old barn, the museum displays items pertaining to the auto road's history. You'll see a number of horse-drawn and motor vehicles that traveled to the mountain summit years ago; highlights include an 1870s Abbot-Downing Concord Coach, a 1918 Pierce-Arrow and a 1938 Ford station wagon.
