Rockwood Park

Rockwood Park is 2 km (1.2 mi.) n. of the city via Mount Pleasant Ave. N. and Lake Dr. S. to 10 Fisher Lakes Dr. One of Canada's largest municipal parks, Rockwood covers 870 hectares (2,150 acres) and contains 12 lakes, gardens, nature and riding trails, a large playground, an 18-hole golf course, an arboretum, a zoo and a campground. A park map can be obtained at the interpretive center, which has event information and features exhibits about the park's geology, horticulture and wildlife.

Summer canoeing and kayaking and winter sleigh rides, cross-country skiing and ice-skating are popular. An equipment rental shop is on site.

Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
