The Falls & Gorge In Grand Falls New Brunswick
AAA Editor Notes
The Falls & Gorge In Grand Falls New Brunswick are best viewed from the Malabeam information center at the Ron Turcotte Bridge, which extends from Broadway Boulevard, crossing the Saint John River. A 23-metre-high (76-ft.) cataract gives Grand Falls its name.
On either side of the river, the Malabeam and the La Rochelle information centers relate the legend of a young native girl who saved her village by luring a Mohawk tribe over the falls into the gorge. At the La Rochelle center a 401-step stairway leads to Wells-in-Rocks, an ideal place to observe the impressive gorge. A zipline over the falls operates when weather permits.
Guided tours are available; information may be obtained at both information centers.
Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Camping is permitted.
